Meet the Founders –
The Heart and Expertise Behind NurseCare Australia
Cherrie – Doctor, Nurse, Consultant, and Advocate for True Healthcare
Cherrie’s passion for care began in the Philippines, where she trained as a medical doctor. Early in her career, she realised that treating a disease isn’t enough — healing requires understanding the person behind it. Listening became the foundation of her practice: patients’ fears, hopes, and personal experiences are just as important as their symptoms.
After moving to Australia, Cherrie pursued nursing, working as a support worker while studying to become a Registered Nurse. This experience grounded her in the realities of home care and taught her to see and understand people, not just their clinical needs. She then became a Nursing Consultant specialising in quality and compliance, ensuring care providers deliver safe, professional, and person-centred services.
At NurseCare Australia, Cherrie ensures:
• Clinical governance and safety – every care plan meets rigorous standards
• Staff training and mentoring – building teams who understand the heart of care
• Quality assurance – translating decades of clinical expertise into peace of mind for families
“True healthcare begins with listening — understanding the fears, hopes, and dignity of the person sitting in front of you.”
Her experience as a doctor and hands-on support worker taught her that listening is critical — it transforms care from routine to deeply personal, making families feel heard, understood, and supported.
Charrisse – Nursing Consultant and Leader
Charrisse’s journey into healthcare began at home. At 18 years old, while most teenagers were focused on friends, travel, or celebrations, she devoted her break to caring for her ailing grandfather. She helped him eat, move, and simply not feel alone.
“At 18, most of my peers were thinking about or holidays. I was learning something far deeper: care is not just a job. Care is a calling — to be present, compassionate, and courageous when someone is most vulnerable.”
Her early experiences instilled a lifelong commitment to person-centred care. After studying Medical Science in the Philippines and migrating to Australia, Charrisse pursued nursing while working as a support worker, gaining hands-on experience in home care. Over the years, she advanced to become both a Nursing Manager and Continence Consultant:
• As a Nursing Manager, Charrisse excels at leading care teams, coordinating complex care plans, and ensuring every client receives smooth, professional, and personalised support.
• As a Continence Consultant, she learned that listening is everything. Sensitive issues require empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of each client’s fears, hopes, and dignity — and she turns that understanding into actionable care plans.
“Being a Nursing Manager and Continence Consultant taught me that great care requires both expertise and listening. Without understanding the person behind the need, care can never be truly effective.”
Charrisse combines:
• Clinical expertise – managing complex and sensitive care needs
• Leadership – guiding teams to deliver coordinated, safe care
• Empathy and listening – turning compassion into actionable, personalised support
Her approach ensures every client at NurseCare Australia receives care tailored to their needs, with dignity and respect at its core.
